2021 DIAA Lunch Box Series: Seminar 1

Lunch times this year are not just about fuelling your body, they’re also about fuelling your mind. 

DIAA is running a series of lunchtime seminars across a range of topics in 2021. 

The first DIAA Lunch Box Seminar is on Thursday 8th April, from midday until 1pm (AEDT).  

Topic: “The impact and recovery from COVID-19 within the dairy industry”. 

Guest speakers are: 

  • Sofia Omstedt, Senior Industry Analyst with Dairy Australia: as part of the Trade and Strategy group, Sofia’s focus is on global dairy demand, Australia’s domestic market and milk production. Her role involves contact with all levels of the dairy supply chain, from suppliers of farm inputs to farmers, milk processors, traders, retailers, consumers, media and government. She also provides an update for the DIAA in each issue Australian Dairy Foodsmagazine
  • Giorgio Linguanti, founder of That’s Amore Cheese: the DIAA member migrated to Australia in 2004. Four years later he’d learnt English and founded his first business. The constantly expanding company began exporting in 2016, and now sends product to more than 10 countries. A sister brand, Cannoleria by That’s Amore, was launched in 2018. Today, That’s Amore Cheese has a team of 100 and makes over 40 different types of cheese. Giorgio was awarded a DIAA Travelling Scholarship in 2019 which he used to attend the International Dairy Federation’s 2019 World Dairy Summit in Turkey.
