DIAA Tasmania Branch is pleased to offer members an opportunity to be trained as an Accredited Dairy Cheese Show Judge by renowned cheesemaker Russell Smith.
Russell has been judging dairy products in major competitions in Australia since 1998. He is the chief judge for the Sydney Royal, Royal Queensland and Royal Perth Cheese and Dairy Shows. He is also the master judge for the New Zealand Cheese Awards. In 2013, Dairy Australia published his training manuals for cheese and dairy judges, as well as one for chefs.
Passionate about cheese, Russell consults across Australia and New Zealand, and for the past 20 years has been involved at the industry’s consumer end.
When: Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th April, 2021
Where: Franklin Room at the Country Club Tasmania, Country Club Avenue, Prospect Vale, TAS, 7250
Outcome: at the conclusion of the training, successful participants will receive an accreditation certificate.
Cost: $200 (which includes all training and cheese costs)
This two-day DIAA training course is limited to just 8 DIAA Tasmania members.
It is anticipated that once accredited, members will be available to judge in the DIAA Tasmanian Dairy Product Awards in June 2021
