DIAA is proud to announce that Jia Han Chew has been awarded the Chr. Hansen & DIAA Young Australians in Dairy Scholarship.
The DIAA member is a Continuous Improvement Engineer with Bega Cheese division Bega Nutritionals and Ingredients at Tatura in northern Victoria.
“My aim is to help Bega Cheese make market-leading products in the most cost-effective way with the least environmental impact possible. Wisconsin being America’s ‘Dairy Land’ would be the best place to visit and learn.”
DIAA member and Chr. Hansen’s ANZ Marketing Manager Lisa Flower said, “Chr. Hansen believes it is vitally important to invest in the talented young people we are privileged to have working in our local dairy industry, and give them the opportunity to learn and be inspired from other global leaders in the industry. Congratulations Jia Han on being the inaugural Chr. Hansen DIAA Young Australians in Dairy scholarship recipient – we can’t wait to hear what you learn!”
Paul van Heerwaarden, Bega Cheese CEO said, “We are delighted that Jia Han Chew has been selected as the recipient of the Chr. Hansen & DIAA Young Australians in Dairy Scholarship. This scholarship will provide Jia Han a unique opportunity to meet and network with industry experts, and to observe first-hand the latest cheese innovation and process technology at the renowned Chr. Hansen culture-manufacturing factory at Milwaukee, USA.
“This experience will be beneficial for Jia Han’s own professional development; his feedback and observations will also have the potential to enrich our organisation and the industry.”
