Oh what a night

On Thursday we launched DIAA Women – the Dairy Industry Association of Australia’s networking and connection platform for women across the breadth of the dairy-value chain

The evening was truly exciting. Launching DIAA Women is a strong step, helping DIAA reach out to the younger generation and to the females in this industry, who may not always identify with being part of Australia’s amazing dairy industry. With nearly 150 registrations, there were 92 people on the line, live, taking part in the launch. That’s the largest reaction the DIAA has had to an online event. By far. Meaning DIAA Women is a platform not only with a purpose, but with a need.

Thanks to the speakers: The Hon. Nola Marino MP (Federal Member for Forrest, Assistant Minister for Regional Development & Territories in the Federal Parliament and the only dairy farmer in federal parliament); The Hon. Mary-Anne Thomas MP (Minister for Agriculture and Minister for Regional Development in the Victorian Parliament); Amanda Hill (CEO of Dairy Food Safety Victoria who showed us that scientists don’t fit a stereotype); and Sallie Jones, co-founder, Gippsland Jersey.

Thanks also to the amazing Priyanka Nunes, the DIAA Victoria State Committee member who has spearheaded launching DIAA Women.
